They are filled with environmentally safe non-toxic, non-hazardous, biodegradable Enviro-Safe liquid, EnviroKleen certified by ChemTel, an independent laboratory, dyed black against yellow back glass, the highest contrast combination for ease of readability and prevention of reading errors. Thermometers have a PTFE coating to prevent contamination if thermometer is broken. Comparable in accuracy to mercury filled thermometers, but are 100 percent environmentally safe, tested and calibrated in an exclusive, triple accredited/registered ISO/IEC 17025:2005, A2LA accredited, laboratory against equipment whose calibration is traceable to NIST and/or DKD/PTB (Europe), accurate to the requirements of ANSI/SAMA Z236.1-1983, ASTM, NIST, DKD and/or equivalent standards, calibrated for 76mm partial immersion, 305mm thermometer length, individually packaged in Safety-Pak packaging to prevent breakage.
